Alternative Seating

21 Products

Traditional sitting often locks the pelvis in a tilt that flattens the lumbar curve. Our alternative seating—including saddle stools and kneeling chairs—promotes an "open hip angle" (120°–135°). This naturally restores your spine’s S-curve and engages core muscles, making these the ideal choice for active users looking to break the cycle of static posture fatigue.

Understanding Active Ergonomics: Saddle vs. Kneeling Chairs

Alternative seating is designed to solve the "slumping" problem found in traditional chairs. By utilizing a Saddle Stool or Kneeling Chair, you encourage an open hip angle (120°+). This posture shift does two critical things:

  • Restores the Lumbar Lordosis: It naturally pushes the pelvis forward, recreating the spine's healthy S-curve without needing a backrest.
  • Engages the Core: Small, micro-movements required to balance keep your stabilizer muscles active, preventing the metabolic slowdown associated with static sitting.
Pro-Tip: We recommend alternative seating as a "secondary chair" to be used for 1–3 hours a day to build core strength and break up static posture cycles.
