HPS Fit Guidance

HPS recommends the airCentric 2 for users approximately 5 ft 5 in to 6 ft 5 in with the appropriate seat size and pneumatic lift. Available configurations accommodate average to fuller body types, with a weight capacity of 350 lbs.

Your proportions matter as much as your height. Choose a seat that supports your thighs while leaving comfortable clearance behind your knees when sitting against the backrest. Position armrests beneath your forearms without raising your shoulders or forcing your elbows outward.

Set chair height for comfortable keyboard and mouse access. If your feet are unsupported at that height, use a separate under-desk footrest.

Choose Your Mechanism

Multi Tilt

Choose Multi Tilt for independent seat positioning and the option of forward seat tilt.

  • Independent back-angle adjustment.
  • Infinite locking and free-float seat tilt.
  • Adjustable tilt tension.
  • Forward seat tilt with lockout.
  • 2.5 inches of seat-depth adjustment.

Synchro Glide

Choose Synchro Glide for coordinated reclining movement. The back moves approximately two degrees for each degree of seat movement.

  • Synchronized 2:1 back-to-seat movement.
  • Free float and seat tilt lockout.
  • Independent back-angle adjustment.
  • Adjustable tilt tension.
  • 2.5 inches of seat-depth adjustment.

Both mechanisms provide pneumatic seat-height adjustment. Seat-height ranges depend on the selected mechanism and lift.

Select Your Seat Size

Select width and depth according to your proportions. The following dimensions are before seat-slider adjustment.

Seat option Width by depth
Small 18.5 by 17 inches
Standard 20 by 19 inches
Extra Long 20 by 21 inches
Plus Size 22 by 19 inches
Extra Deep 22 by 21 inches

A longer seat offers additional thigh support. A wider seat provides more sitting room. The 2.5-inch seat-depth adjustment lets you refine the position after choosing your seat size.

Choose Your Seat Foam

  • Dual-density molded foam: The standard cushioned seating option.
  • Energy Absorbent Memory Foam: An optional alternative for customers who prefer a different cushioning feel.
  • Triple-Density Foam: An additional option for personalizing seat comfort.

Foam choice affects seating feel. Try the available showroom configurations or contact HPS to discuss your preferences.

Select Your Pneumatic Lift

Choose from the available short, standard and tall pneumatic lifts according to your leg length and workstation height.

Seat-height ranges vary with the mechanism and lift. Review the combination rather than choosing by lift size alone. HPS can help confirm the appropriate configuration.

Personalize Your Upholstery and Frame

Choose your fabric grade, upholstery material and color from the product options. Air Knit is available for customers who prioritize airflow; other materials offer different textures and appearances.

Select a Midnight Black or Light Gray frame to coordinate with your upholstery and workspace. Available combinations and prices depend on your selections.

Position Your Arm Support

Choose from the listed height-adjustable armrests, with swivel and lateral adjustment on selected models.

Height adjustment positions support beneath your forearms. Swivel adjustment changes the arm-pad direction, while lateral adjustment brings compatible pads inward for a closer fit.

Contact HPS for additional manufacturer arm configurations beyond those listed online.

Ventilated Backrest with Cushioned Support

The front-upholstered, dual-curve backrest measures 19 inches wide by 24 inches high. Its 5-inch height adjustment helps position support around your torso.

Ventilation openings in the back construction allow airflow through the cushioned support. Upholstery affects breathability and feel; consider Air Knit if airflow is a priority.

Optional Air Lumbar Support

Add the optional air lumbar system to vary the depth and firmness of lower-back support. Adjust the backrest height first, then personalize the lumbar setting to your preferred feel.

Adjustable Headrest

Rear close-up of the ergoCentric airCentric 2 adjustable headrest and pivoting support brackets.
Optional adjustable headrest shown. Add it through the product options.

The optional ergoCentric headrest can be repositioned while seated. Push or pull it to adjust its position, then use its pivot points to place the support comfortably around your head and neck.

Features

  • Three pivot points.
  • Seven inches of vertical and horizontal adjustment.
  • Durable support brackets and pivot mechanisms for flexible positioning.

Support When You Lean Back

The headrest provides a resting surface for your head and neck when reclining. Its range of adjustment helps accommodate different torso lengths and sitting preferences.

Position it so it meets your head comfortably without pushing it forward. Check headrest placement together with backrest height and recline angle.

Choose Your Base and Casters

Select an available nylon or polished aluminum base to suit your configuration and preferred appearance.

Choose casters appropriate for your flooring. Urethane casters are suitable for hard floors. Glides provide a stationary alternative to rolling casters.
