Tips for stress-free, pain-free, and relaxed driving

• Always remove your wallet from your back pocket before sitting. This causes the pelvis to twist, stressing your back.
• When getting into the car, sit first and then swing your legs into the car. To get out, slide your legs out first and then stand up to decrease lower back strain.
• Take frequent breaks by getting out and stretching at least every 2 hours. This is important for your back, as well as your hands, since holding a steering wheel for long periods can contribute to carpal tunnel syndrome.
• Hold the steering wheel firmly without clenching.
